Grandma Devey back with her sweet heart!

We have such great memories with you I feel blessed to be called your granddaughter! We love and will miss you lots.

Lorna Jewel Bateman Devey
(October 17, 1927 - February 29, 2012
Lorna Jewel Bateman Devey died peacefully at the age of 84 in Alpine, Utah on February 29, 2012. Lorna was born October 17, 1927 to W. Waldo and Maurine Bateman in Alpine, UT. She graduated from American Fork High School and Brigham Young Academy. She married Don Earl Devey on May 20, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. They shared 44 wonderful years together. Don passed away on October 13, 1990

She is survived by her children: Lee and Susan Devey, Katherine and Robert Chatfield, Kim and Glen Fernstrom, Kelly and LaVon Devey, 22 Grand children and 35 Great Grandchildren.

She retired from the US post office after 15 years of service and never forgot an address. She loved doing book work for Don and Dave Devey Excavation. In the early years she even drove the dump truck. There was nothing she couldn't do. Crocheting with her sisters, doing puzzles, watching her grandchildren play ball, gardening, going river rafting and trips to Hawaii were some of her greatest passions. She never forgot a birthday and always made sure she had a cake to celebrate. She loved her family and will be dearly missed.

She will be buried next to her Eternal Sweetheart, Don Devey, in the Alpine Cemetery.

A viewing will be held Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the red brick LDS Church in Alpine, 200 North 50 East from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 5, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with a viewing one hour prior to the funeral. Interment, Alpine City Cemetery. Online condolences at wingmortuary.com

I remember going to their house when I would stay with you guys. I always thought it was such a fun house with the stream in back. I also remember how nice she was to me.
I'm so sorry for you loss, but so happy that she can be with her eternal companion.
Give my condolences to the family, unfortunately I can't find anyone to watch my kids, so I won't be at the funeral.
